Cascade’s wrestling team fell to both Camanche and Wilton during a double dual, Dec. 12, at Wilton.

The Cougars started the night off with a tough 58-21 loss against Camanche.

Kodey Miles (285) received the first points on the night pinning his opponent in just eight seconds and Cade Rausch (170) won by fall. Ted Weber (160) won by decision at 11-5. Carson Staner (132) received a forfeit win.

Trever Freiburger (106) lost by major decision, 9-1. Rylan Crowley (182), Luke Ludwig (113) and Hunter Vogel (138) all lost by fall. CHS forfeited at 195, 120, 126, 145, and 152.

Against Wilton, CHS lost, 42-40.

Rausch, Freiburger, Vogel, and Weber all earned wins by fall. Staner won an 11-3 major decision. Miles and Ludwig won by forfeit.

Crowley and Trenkamp both lost by fall. CHS forfeited at 195, 120, 126, 145, and 152.

Dec. 14, Cascade placed 15th at the Mount Vernon Invitational.

Freiburger led Cascade with a sixth-place finish at 106. He went 3-2 on the day with two byes and a 16-0 technical fall over West Liberty’s Collin Cassady in 2:21.

Ludwig, Staner, Weber, Rausch and Miles did not place.

Lisbon took home the team title with 336.5 points. Davenport Assumption was second (171), Beckman third (142), West Liberty fourth (132), Wapsie Valley fifth (95), Wapello sixth (93), Muscatine seventh (87), Cedar Rapids Xavier eighth (85), Marion ninth (71), Louisa-Muscatine 10th (59), Mount Vernon 11th (57), East Buchanan 12th (56), Sigourney-Keota 13th (51), Washington 14th (41) and Cascade 15th (9.5).
