Students from Almost Famous Dance and Gymnastics competed at USTA Nationals in Rochester, Minn., June 14-19 for the first time.

Coaches Andrea Rundle and Paige Kremer said, “We are so very proud of our athletes, not just with results, but with the progress they’ve shown all year long. The heart and determination in these young athletes shows every single practice and competition. AFDG is so proud of each and every one of you.”

Two from Almost Famous earned top-10 overall trophies — Kylie Meeks was second and Isabella Austin fourth.

Those earning flight awards were: third — Whitney Long (11th overall); fourth — Haddie Foxen (11th) and Sophia Jellison (12th); fifth — Madelyn Capalla (12th); sixth — Skylar Christensen (11th) and Alaina Mead (17th); seventh — Isla Stoneking (14th), Emma Brockhohn (15th) and Joslynn Kray (16th); eighth — Callie Hunt (19th);

Almost Famous Dance & Gymnastics is owned by Amanda Hackney & Melissa Ehrisman. AFDG Competition Gymnastics is under the direction of Rundle with the assistance of Kremer.
