The Cascade Cougars bowling teams opened their seasons, Dec. 3, when they traveled to Monticello to take on the Panthers. The Monticello boys came out victorious as they defeated the Cougars, 2,806-2,178.
The Cougars found themselves trailing after the individual games 1,940-1,443. Sam Noonan was the high score for the boys as he shot a 323 (155-168). Isaac Hogan 322 (170-152), Zach Green 281 (147-134), Vic Kauder 271 (171-100) and Jared Weber 246 (124-122) scores all counted toward the team’s total. Brennan Booth’s score of 221 (110-111) did not count.
The baker games were slightly better for the boys as they averaged a 147, but Monticello had no problem handling that as the Panthers took round two as well 866-735.
Cascade’s girls fared better as they were able to defeat the Monticello 1,946-1,898.
The Cougars narrowly won the individual games round as they totaled 1,298 pins to the Panthers’ 1,277. Hallie Keenlance was the top roller with a series of 323 (145-178). Following her was Jessica Kremer 319 (152-167), Emma Cram 243 (95-148), Nicole Finzel 233 (88-145) and Lillian Burns 159 (54-105). Ella Madsen’s score of 117 (60-57) did not count.
Another narrow win in the baker round secured the win for the Cougars. The baker round totals were 648-621.
