Western Dubuque concluded a fine 2023 girls’ soccer campaign with a 1-0 loss to Iowa City Liberty, in Cascade, May 19.

In a game considered a toss-up, with both teams entering the contest with seven wins, it was the Lightning that managed to advance to play Independence in the Class 2A, Region 4 semifinal, May 23.
