Alice M. Klostermann, 93, of Cascade, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, at Monticello Nursing and Rehab in Monticello.

Visitation for Alice was held from 3-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, where a prayer service was held at 2:30 p.m. and American Legion Auxiliary services were held at 4:30 p.m. Friends also called after 9 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at the funeral home.

Mass of Christian Burial for Alice was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019 at St. Martin Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding. Eucharistic Minister was Shalay Bronemann. Lectors were Mary Ann Rollinger and Mary Maurer. Placing of the Pall was done by Melvin “Bud” Breitbach, Judy Harms, Mary Hinderman, Charles Breitbach, Geraldine Gorman and Geralyn Puccio. Giftbearers were Mark Weber, Sandra Weber and Sara Donath.

Burial was held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.

Honorary Pallbearers were Shelley and Brian Bronemann, Crystal and Thad Roffey, Heather Gorman and Melissa Puccio.

Casketbearers were Shane Kedley, Marty Kedley, Jamie Kedley, Troy Harms, Cory Harms, Ben Puccio, Josh Puccio, Nathan Gorman and Chuck Luensman.

She was born May 19, 1926 in Cascade, daughter of Earl and Anna (Kramer) Wall. She received her education from the Cascade Eastside School. She was united in marriage to Melvin J. Breitbach and they later divorced. On Aug. 30, 1958 she was united in marriage to Lawrence Klostermann. He preceded her in death Dec. 11, 1981. Alice was employed at Head Start in Dubuque, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center in Monticello and Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.

She was a member of the St. Matthias Parish in Cascade and the Cascade Legion Auxiliary #528 were she served as Vice President and Secretary.

She is survived by six children, Melvin J. “Bud” Breitbach, of Monticello, Judy (Galen) Harms, of Anamosa, Mary (Lee) Hinderman of Davenport, Charles Breitbach, of Dubuque, Geraldine Gorman and Geralyn Puccio, both of Cedar Rapids; six step-children, Lois (Dave) Gavin, of Bernard, Leo (Carol) Klostermann, of Dyersville, Jean Weber, Jan Beaman, both of Cascade, Larry (Linda) Klostermann, of Centerville and Gary Klostermann, of Dubuque; step-daughter-in-law, Darlene Klostermann, of Earlville; step-son-in-law, Vince Manders, of Dubuque; 14 grandchildren; 36 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Laura Eiben, of Monticello, Jannette Weets, of Anamosa and Elsie Chapman, of Monticello; brother and sister-in-law, Joe (Marie) Coyle.

She is also preceded in death by her parents; son, George Breitbach; daughter, Sonya Hess; sister, Lillian in infancy; two brothers, Melvin and William Wall; step-son, Carl Klostermann; step-daughter, Mary Manders; son-in-law, Mike Gorman; step-son-in-laws, Flute Weber and Myrlen Beaman.
