A local bank recently received mention as one of the Coolest Places to Work.

The Corridor Business Journal named Ohnward Bank & Trust as one of the Coolest Places to Work in its annual awards ceremony. Ohnward Bank & Trust earned fifth place in the medium category. A total of 24 companies were nominated this year.

Ohnward Bank & Trust CEO and President Abram Tubbs said it is an honor to be identified as a great place to work, along with other local companies.

“It was a terrific honor and I was truly humbled to be in a room and sitting with such a great team,” Tubbs said. “What we bring to the workplace every day is what makes us who we are. I’m so proud of our team members and I appreciate their willingness to be at their best every day.”

The Corridor Business Journal annually recognizes great companies with its Coolest Places to Work awards. The awards identify local companies that have created the most engaging and rewarding work environments in the Corridor’s area, which is based in Cedar Rapids/Iowa City.

Ohnward Bank & Trust Market President Kevin King pointed to the organization’s emphasis on positive workplace culture as one of the reasons for the honor.

“When our team members come to work at Ohnward, they are immediately welcomed into the Ohnward family,” King said. “We value each person on our team and that’s been part of the culture at Ohnward for years. We’re proud to receive this distinction.”
