Whitney Hein

Family: My husband, Ben, and I live in rural Monticello on the family farm. We have a 10-month-old daughter, Lainey.

Why are you running? I am running for county auditor because I want to serve the citizens of the great community in which we live. Jones County has a history of having a very thorough and knowledgeable auditor and I hope to continue that.

What is your background/experience? I have a bachelor of science degree in agricultural business and animal science from Iowa State University. I currently work for TriOak Foods as a fieldman managing 50,000 hog spaces. Previously, I worked as a crop insurance agent handling a multi-million-dollar book of business. These two positions have taught me to be very detail-oriented and organized with good communication skills.

What do you hope to accomplish? As auditor, I plan to hold fair and accurate elections with timely results. I also plan to keep a balanced budget and be transparent about the budget with the board of supervisors.

What would you say to an undecided voter to convince them to vote for you? To any undecided voter, I would say that I have the education and work experience to be successful as the Jones County auditor. I have a passion for the community and will serve the people to the best of my ability.

What is your background/experience? I graduated from Midland High School in 2016 and graduated 2020 with my associate’s degree in accounting. I am continuing my schooling to obtain my bachelors.

What do you hope to accomplish? I hope to accomplish many things in life but my main goal is to work hard and live a long and fulfilling life.

What would you say to an undecided voter to convince them to vote for you? I am honest and I don’t let my political views stand in between making the right decision and not. I pride myself on my honest work and I love to listen to all sides when coming to an agreement.
