Sara Stevenson and Ian McDowell, both of San Francisco, Calif., were united in marriage June 2 at 4 p.m. at Midnight Farm in Maquoketa. JD Robertson officiated the ceremony. Nathaneal Hardy was the violinist.
Parents of the couple are Rick and Cindy Stevenson, of Cascade, and Jack and Glenda Seward, of West Chester.
The bride was given in marriage by her father Rick Stevenson.
Maid of honor was Allison Gibbs, of Cascade, friend of couple. Bridesmaids were Bailey Banger, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Marls Bomgaars, of Okoboji, friends of the couple. Personal attendants were Lauren Carter, of Minneapolis, Minn., Ashley Amborn, of Dallas, Texas, and Ally Merfeld, of Iowa City, friends of the couple. Flower girls were Raeghan Seward and Emerson Seward, both of Kalona, nieces of groom.
Best man was Nathaneal Hardy, of San Francisco, Calf., friend of couple. Groomsmen were Ted Bivalarov, of Minneapolis, Minn., and Luke Geiken, of Seattle, Wash., friends of the couple. Ushers were Levi Stevenson, of Cascade, brother of bride, Tim McDowell, of Keota, and Jed Seward, of Kalona, brothers of the groom.
A reception was held at Midnight farm in Maquoketa.
A wedding trip is planed to New Zealand in September.
Sara graduated from Cascade High School in 2013 and Iowa State University in 2017 with a BA in Graphic Design. She is employed as a graphic designer at Hines for Amazon. Ian graduated from Mid Prairie High School in 2013 and Iowa State University in 2017 with a BS in Computer Science. He is employed at Apple as a software developer.
