Donald I. Lindauer, 78, of Cascade, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 at 6:22 p.m. at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade.
Friends and relatives of Donnie may call from 8:30-10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade.
Services for Donnie will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019 at St. Martin Catholic Church, in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding. Eucharistic Ministers are CeAnn Brickley and Marie Finn. Lectors are Tom Lindauer and Ted Lindauer. Petitions will be read by Dave Lindauer and Phil Lindauer. Placing of the Pall will be done by Ellen Lindauer, Marty Lindauer, Phil Lindauer, Dave Lindauer, Ted Lindauer, Tom Lindauer, Sue Lindauer and Sara Lindauer. Giftbearers are Katie Lindauer, Rebekah Lindauer, Ally Lindauer and Mya Lindauer. Honorary Pallbearers are Luke Lindauer, Jeff Lindauer, Todd Lindauer, Denny Green, Andy Green and Tony Green. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
Casketbearers are Michael Lindauer, Justin Lindauer, Alex Lindauer, Jacob Lindauer, Zach Lindauer, Isaac Lindauer, Noah Lindauer and Terry Green.
He was born Sept. 26, 1940, in Cascade, son of Edwin and Stella (Kintzle) Lindauer. He received his education at St. Patrick school in Garryowen. On Nov. 24, 1962 he was united in marriage to Ellen Urbain at St. John Catholic Church in Placid. He was owner of Midwest Tool and Die. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish in Cascade.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Lindauer, of Cascade; seven children, Marty (Sara) Lindauer, of Monticello, Phil Lindauer, of Cedar Rapids, David ( Kimberly) Lindauer, of Fairfax, Ted (Jennifer) Lindauer, of Bettendorf, Tom (Holly) Lindauer, of Vinton, Sue Lindauer (& Phil Kobliska) of Cedar Rapids, and Sara Lindauer, of Madison, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings, Isabel Lindauer, of Dubuque, Alice Wolf, of Dubuque and Mary Green, of Cascade; sister-in-law, Helen “Blondi” Lindauer, of Cascade; brother-in-law, Roger Sherman, of East Dubuque, Ill.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Joseph Lindauer; and two brothers, Ed (Marie) Lindauer and Bob Lindauer; two sisters, Jane Lindauer and Helen Sherman; two brothers-in-law, Jim Wolf and Gil Green.
A Donald Lindauer memorial fund has been established in lieu of flowers.
